Terms of Use
Last updated: October 7, 2026
These terms apply to KeyCodeNavigator (also shown as KeyCodeNav), an iPhone and iPad app published by Vizsla Tech LLC ("we," "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. They sit alongside Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement governs.
Using the app
- Store only codes and information you are authorised to have, and use them only to access places you are permitted to enter.
- You are responsible for keeping your device, your device passcode and your app password secure.
- You are responsible for what you share and who you share it with. Share only codes and documents you're allowed to share. When someone should no longer have a code, change the code: removing them in the app can't take back what they already saw.
- Don't use the app for anything unlawful, or to gain access to property without permission.
Your data
Everything you enter is stored on your device and is yours. The app is designed so that we never receive it in a form we can read: what you share is sealed end to end. The app encrypts it on your device, and our relay only passes it along, without the keys to decrypt it. We do not sell your information or use it for any purpose other than delivering it to the people you choose. So we cannot recover your information if you lose your device, forget your password or delete your account and all data. Keeping backups is your responsibility. What you share is designed to be kept on our relay only until it's delivered; the Privacy Policy explains this and the limits.
Shared places
Shared updates are designed to arrive quickly, but we don't guarantee when, or whether, they arrive: they can be delayed or fail to arrive, for example without a connection or when iOS limits what apps do in the background. A code on someone's phone can be out of date. Keep another way to reach the codes you rely on.
Accuracy of codes
The app shows the codes, notes and details that you, or the person who shared a place with you, entered. We don't check them, and we don't guarantee that any code is correct, current or will open anything. Codes change, and a saved or shared code can be wrong or out of date. Keeping a code accurate is the responsibility of whoever entered it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for a code that is wrong, out of date or doesn't work. Always keep another way to get into the places you rely on, especially in an emergency.
Arrival alerts
Arrival alerts come with a plan or the free trial. They depend on your device's location services, GPS accuracy, notification settings, battery and iOS itself. They are a convenience, not a guarantee: they can be late, early or missed, and you shouldn't rely on them as your only way to reach a code. Always keep another way to reach the codes you rely on. Do not use the app while driving: look at your phone only once you have stopped safely, and follow all traffic laws.
Purchases and subscriptions
KeyCodeNavigator is a free download. Receiving places that others share with you is free, always, with no subscription. Arrival alerts, and adding, editing and sharing your own places, need a plan. All purchases are made through Apple with your Apple Account. The prices below are in US dollars; the app and the App Store show the price in your own country.
- Free trial. New subscribers get the first 14 days of Monthly or Annual free. It's Apple's introductory offer, so there's one free trial per Apple Account, across both plans. It starts only when you choose a plan and confirm Apple's purchase sheet. When it ends, your plan renews automatically at its price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Monthly, $9.99 a month. It renews automatically each month unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. You can manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings under your name, then Subscriptions, or in the app under Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription. If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Annual, $119.99 a year. It renews automatically each year unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment, managing and cancelling work as for Monthly.
Either plan includes everything, on every iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. The plan applies on all your devices, but places you save stay on the device you saved them on; they don't move between your own devices. If your plan or the free trial ends, or a purchase is refunded, the app doesn't lock. Places shared with you stay free and keep updating. Nothing is deleted: the place at the top of your list stays fully visible, to view and copy, and your other places stay listed with their names, addresses and contacts, with their codes, notes and documents hidden until you subscribe again. Arrival alerts, and adding, editing and sharing your own places, stop until you have a plan again. Pausing or removing people you share with, changing a code and removing them, and deleting stay free. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
During Apple's free trial, the app reminds you two days before the trial ends. We also send our own renewal notice 30 days before each Annual renewal, and once a year for Monthly. If you turn off Settings → Notifications → Renewal reminders in the app, the notice shows in the app instead of as a notification.
Third-party services
Address search uses Google Maps Platform and maps are shown with Apple Maps. Results may be incomplete or inaccurate; check a property's location yourself. Those services are provided under their own terms.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any alert will be delivered.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vizsla Tech LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, access or property, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to $50 or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions or limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
Changes and termination
We may update the app and these terms. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version; continuing to use the app means you accept it. You can stop using the app at any time. In the app, Settings → Delete account and all data… deletes your data on the device and ends your shares.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
